Description

Rexpex
(RECKS-pecks)
The Royal Fisher Pokemon

Pokedex:
Rexpex are found in tropical climates, populating the local rainforests. They are incredibly speedy Pokemon, but will often be observed perching in a tree, staying perfectly still. Due to their bright colours, any unnecessary movement will often draw attention to itself, and alert its prey to its whereabouts, so they can swim away. So, Rexpex patiently wait until they spot small, water-dwelling prey (Tympole watch out!), then with their Keen Eye lock-on to the target and plunge in at great speed with Quick Attack or Aqua Jet and Pluck them out the water.
Alternatively, if the environment allows, Rexpex will sometime perch on a branch that overhangs a pond or river, and it will dangle its silver hooks into the water and await a bite. When it feels a tug, it will retract its tail, and flick the fish out the water and up into the air. This skill makes them a great companion for fishermen.

Rexpex seem to be closely related to Humdrum. While Humdrum are often coveted for their perfumes, Rexpex are often caught as a status symbol. Their majestic gold and silver colouring sparkle in the light of battle, and are quite a sight to behold. Their wings and tail have an organometallic structure which can be amplified allowing them to wield Steel attacks. But their signature move still remains as Dive; and Pokemon photographers always want to add a snap of a Rexpex mid-Dive to their collection, as a sign of a true professional.

Battledex:
Rexpex is a dual Water/Flying Pokemon, meaning it is weak to Electric and Rock attacks.

Rexpex are speedsters. But their remaining stats are decidedly average. However, with no pre-evolution, you get a nice 450 stat total right out the egg! This makes them excellent in early trainer battles, especially as they learn Soak early on, which can be used to remove the STAB from opponents.

Rexpex still has a few tricks up its sleeve though. The move Ripple is risky, but can cripple foes with its Sleep or Confusion inducing effects. The Steel attacks are always a nice surprise coming from a Water/Flying Pokemon and Steel Wing's chance to raise Rexpex low Defence is always welcome. But, the true tactic lies in its ability Sniper. This increases the power of its critical hits. Combine this with a Scope Lens and use Air Cutter and you can be dealing regular powerful critical hits to two Pokemon.
Also, if Rexpex's father was a Fearow, allow the egg move Drill Run into your arsenal. This also has an increased critical hit ratio, and its Ground typing allows it too smash up the Electric and Rock types that Rexpex is weak too!

I like the inclusion of the steel moves, as you mentioned it's a nice way to throw the opponent off balance and make the moveset a little more interesting and varied to the regular flying and normal moves. I like the colour scheme too :)
